Olympic Games bid could see Qld secure $36bn economic injection

Queensland could see a $36 billion boost in jobs, exports and tourism if it secures the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The cost of running the games would be over $4 billion but over half of this would be covered in Olympic Committee grants and ticket sales revenue.

Over 80 per cent of event structures are already in place with the possibility of south-east Queensland securing another 65,000 seat stadium.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said she is determined to include the whole state in the Olympic Games.
